Darby Street Retreat, managed by The FAM Holiday Property Management Newcastle, is a charming three-bedroom apartment in a beautiful Art Deco building just moments from Bar Beach. Centrally located between Darby Street’s restaurants and bars, The Junction’s cafés and boutiques, and the stunning coastline, it’s the perfect base to enjoy everything Newcastle has to offer.

Good to know

Located on the ground floor of Kamarem Court the apartment is the perfect size for couples, friends or families. The air conditioned living area has space to relax and dine. Cook your own meals in the well equiped kitchen or enjoy one of the many restaurants within a few minutes walk. Darby Street Retreat sleeps up to 5 people across three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a Super King Bed and smart TV which opens to the attached third bedroom with a King Single Bed. The separate second bedroom boasts a Queen Bed. Each bedroom has ceiling fans. Other features include Smart TV's - living and main bedroom, bathroom, internal washing machine, wardrobe storage, front porch and free street parking. Linen, towels and cooking essentials are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. Children and babies are welcome, we have a travel cot and high chair for guests to use.

House Rules

The property is in a quiet neighbourhood. Please respect those around us and ensure you do not cause any loud noise or music. We have permanent neighbours nearby and must ensure this rule is adhered to. We do not accept bookings for any parties, schoolies, hens or bucks celebrations. A responsible adult must be in attendance at all bookings. No additional visitors beyond those on the booking are allowed onto the property at anytime. Please take all your rubbish to outside bins in sealed bags before you check out. Please be courteous to our cleaners and leave the house in a reasonable state. All damages must be paid for. We are bound by the NSW government Code of Conduct for the Short-term Rental Accommodation Industry and as a guest, you are required to abide by these laws. These regulations outline behaviour standards which include ensuring noise does not disturb neighbours, your responsibility for any damage caused to the property and your responsibility for the behaviour of any other guests in your group

Darby Street Retreat is situated a short walk from Newcastle's best cafe and restaurant precincts. Start with Hubro which is apart of our complex, a fantastic cafe only steps away. Harris Farm Markets are a must stop for foodies, walk there in 5 minutes! Discover the rest of Darby Street and The Junction by foot or take the short drive into Newcastle CBD to discover harbour side bars and inner city restaurants.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire three bedroom, one bathroom ground floor apartment. Darby Street Retreat is located within a historic art deco building, the apartment has some original features. There is fresh paint and carpet throughout. Guests can check in anytime after 3pm with easy self-check-in, making arrival super simple and flexible.

The apartment has an excellent location. It's incredibly convenient, being just a short 100-meter walk from either the Harris Market (which has amazing food) in one direction, and the beach in the other. During the day, the street outside can be quite busy with vehicles, but don't worry – it significantly quietens down in the evening and doesn't interfere with sleeping at all. A bit further up Darby street are many good restaurants as well - It's the perfect spot to enjoy the best of both worlds!
