Darby Street Retreat is located in a beautiful art deco apartment building moments from the sand at Bar Beach. Centrally located between Darby Street's restaurants and bars, The Junction's boutiques and cafes and the stunning coastline, this original three bedroom apartment is the perfect place to stay to enjoy all that Newcastle has to offer.

Good to know

Located on the ground floor of Kamarem Court the apartment is the perfect size for couples, friends or families. The air conditioned living area has space to relax and dine. Cook your own meals in the well equiped kitchen or enjoy one of the many restaurants within a few minutes walk. Darby Street Retreat sleeps up to 5 people across three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a Super King Bed and smart TV which opens to the attached third bedroom with a King Single Bed. The separate second bedroom boasts a Queen Bed. Each bedroom has ceiling fans. Other features include Smart TV's - living and main bedroom, bathroom, internal washing machine, wardrobe storage, front porch and free street parking. Linen, towels and cooking essentials are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. Children and babies are welcome, we have a travel cot and high chair for guests to use.

The property is in a quiet neighbourhood. Please respect those around us and ensure you do not cause any loud noise or music. We have permanent neighbours nearby and must ensure this rule is adhered to. We do not accept bookings for any parties, schoolies, hens or bucks celebrations. A responsible adult must be in attendance at all bookings. No additional visitors beyond those on the booking are allowed onto the property at anytime. Please take all your rubbish to outside bins in sealed bags before you check out. Please be courteous to our cleaners and leave the house in a reasonable state. All damages must be paid for. We are bound by the NSW government Code of Conduct for the Short-term Rental Accommodation Industry and as a guest, you are required to abide by these laws. These regulations outline behaviour standards which include ensuring noise does not disturb neighbours, your responsibility for any damage caused to the property and your responsibility for the behaviour of any other guests in your group

Harris Farm Markets are a must stop for foodies, walk there in 5 minutes! Discover the rest of Darby Street and The Junction by foot or take the short drive into Newcastle CBD to discover harbour side bars and inner city restaurants.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire three bedroom, one bathroom ground floor apartment. Darby Street Retreat is located within a historic art deco building, the apartment has some original features. There is fresh paint and carpet throughout. Guests can check in anytime after 3pm with easy self-check-in, making arrival super simple and flexible.

Katie and Carly were fantastic hosts during an extended stay. We needed to change our departure date a number of times and our hosts were always responsive to our requests. The location is very convenient with easy access to a great coffee shop, local restaurants, supermarkets and pubs. The apartment is well lit with loads of natural light and a clean, with a well appointed kitchen. On street parking was easy. Cannot recommend enough.
